Philosophy of Life and Ministry:
Thomas Merton says:
One cannot give away what one does not possess himself
I have a passion to see people formed into the image of Christ (Gal. 4.19). This is the goal of every Christian, and the point of all ministry. If they have not yet met Christ, it is called Evangelism, and if they have, it is called Formation or Discipleship. A person becomes formed into the image of Christ through humbly presenting themselves before God as a living sacrifice (Rom 12.1-2). This can be through many differing practices, or disciplines: study, service, prayer, worship, meditation, etc… God meets us in these humble offerings and transforms us and shapes us more into the image of his Son, Jesus. Progress in the Christian walk can be measured in an increased capacity for love, of God, others, and self. (Matt 22.38-39)

Core Values:
Formation: The core value that is the center of all the others. If we are not being formed into the image of Christ, all other values are worthless
Community: Sharing life together with a group of people who are on the same path of formation into Christ-likeness
Presence: Living in community within a community that needs the presence of Christ lived out for them to see. Theologically it is called Incarnational living.
Simplicity: Living as free from the suffocating values and dehumanizing systems of this world as possible.
Authenticity: The core value that is the result of all the other values. If I am living with Formation into Christlikeness as my core, community life, simplicity, and presence as accompanying values, the result should be an authentic life, free of any false-ness, illusion or delusion living, or false self.
